Program

The Symposium will span four full days, starting from August 28, 2018. On the late afternoon of August 27, Monday, a welcome cocktail will be offered on the premises of the Symposium venue, and registrations will start. The Conference Dinner will be held on the eve of August 30. On the following day, Friday, the Symposium excursion will take place: presumably by boat to Capo Caccia (bring your swimming gear!). The topics of the Symposium, and its articulation, will depend on number and content of communications of the attendees.
Possible topics for the four days of the Symposium are:

Day 1

Morphology / Ultrastructure / Taxonomy / Phylogeny / Evolution / Biodiversity / Biogeography

Day 2

Regeneration / molecular regulation / cell signalling

Day 3

Reproductive Biology / Development
As usual, this will include both free-living and parasite flatworms, as well as the "former flatworms" Xenacoelomorpha.

Conference dinner

Day 4

Excursion.

Each day will have a keynote speaker – as first communication of the morning.
According to the number of speakers, we will try to favour short communications (15-20 minutes max). Lunch and coffee-breaks will be offered in the premises of the venue.

Information on how to get to Alghero here

We intend to organise the Symposium in the Quartè Sayàl (www.quartesayal.com): centrally located on the seafront promenade of Alghero, and close to Hotels and Bed & Breakfasts.
Alghero is a touristic town, and offers a wide range of accomodations. However, we strongly recommend to book as early as possible, as you may miss the best options. A list of possible accomodations will be given on this site – but you may prefer to check by yourself, and scout for the best offers.

Where is Sardinia?

Where to stay

The are a large number of hotels at B&B in Alghero – and you may wish to spend some time checking the offers in the websites of your preference…
We contacted as organisers several types of accomodations, asking whether they would apply special discount rates to the attendants to the Symposium.
We got a few answers: download
